Het Slaait’nhoes van de familie Nieuwenhuis in Onstwedde is een Westerwolds streekmuseum dat van dinsdag tot en met zondag geopend is vanaf 10 uur. De van oorsprong Saksische vakwerkboerderij is door de familie Nieuwenhuis eigenhandig, zoveel mogelijk authentiek, gerestaureerd.
De boerderij is een voorbeeld van een echt Saksische bebouwing, het zogenaamde hallehuistype. Bij dit type boerderij vormden woning en schuur één grote ongescheiden ruimte. Het koren werd op zogenaamde slaait'n (naast elkaar gelegde palen) boven op de deel opgeborgen. Daar komt ook de naam 'Slaait'nhoes' vandaan.
Naast streekmuseum doet het ook dienst als restaurant.
In het streekmuseum vindt u een uitgebreide collectie gebruiksvoorwerpen,kleding,handwerktuigen en rariteiten, die tezamen een leuk en gevarieerd beeld van de streek vormen.
