In de vaargebieden is het Oldambtmeer geschikt voor zeilboten en kleinere motorjachten. De minimale diepte van het meer is 1.30 meter bij 0,65- NAP. Maar ook leent het zich uitstekend voor kanoën, vissen, windsurfen en zwemmen.
