De Noordstar is een achtkante koren- en pelmolen uit 1849, type Stellingmolen. Ze is maalvaardig.
De molen heeft een aantal details in de constructie die opvallen en niet gebruikelijk zijn voor Oost-Groningen. Zo bevinden de maalstenen zich op de stellingzolder.
